Chamber of Information & Telecommunications

The Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunication (CIT) is Egypt's first nonprofit organisation dedicated to enhancing the business sector in the information and telecommunication technology industry. Established by Ministerial Order No. 227 in 1999, the chamber's mission is to create a balance among different industry players, aligned with Egypt’s national vision of promoting digital transformation and strengthening the country's global presence in the IT sector.

The CIT works to unify efforts between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, local and international companies, and developmental associations. Its goal is to highlight Egypt's future regarding exporting opportunities, investment advantages, and sustainable development in line with Egypt's 2030 Vision.

CIT currently includes more than 12,000 member companies from the information technology and telecommunications sectors and is led by a 15-member board comprising leaders from Egyptian companies, global firms, mobile service operators, industrialists, and specialized experts.
