The General Division for Digital Economy and Technology (formerly the General Division for Computer and Software) was established within the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce in 2001. Previously, the Division included companies operating in the fields of computers and software across the Republic.
The General Division also has 10 subdivisions for computers and software within various chambers of commerce in the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria, Gharbia, Dakahlia, Port Said, Damietta, Assiut, Aswan, Sharqia, and Sohag. This structure reflects the Division’s commitment to engaging with technology companies located in these governorates. especially small, medium, and emerging enterprises and working to overcome the challenges they face and support their development. These efforts contribute to strengthening the Egyptian information technology industry as a whole and boosting high value-added national technology exports.
