Since its foundation, Wataneya has been introducing innovative solutions based on a transformation approach to reform orphanage care in Egypt and ensure a better future for children and youth raised in care homes. Yet, in 2016, Wataneya extended its efforts to include another form of alternative care which is foster/alternative families (Kafala) by joining the Higher Committee of Alternative Families at MoSS. Wataneya created a breakthrough in the field of orphans care by developing Quality Standards for Alternative Care within care homes for children and youth without parental care and advocating for mandating these standards nationwide which was accredited and mandated by the Ministry of Social Solidarity in June 2014. Wataneya’s projects and programs are driven from its long-term strategic objectives (2017-2023), 1. Empower care homes to apply and sustain the quality standards for alternative care 2. Qualify the caregivers to ensure quality of life for children without parental care 3. Empower orphaned youth economically and socially for successful transition to independence 4. Develop the alternative care monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to sustain quality of care 5. Advocate for the empowerment of children and youth without parental care Wataneya was recognized as one of the best six practices worldwide to improve the living environment by Dubai International Award, was selected as the best project under the Humanitarian Category in the Arab Region by MBC Hope in 2014, was recognized by Prince Mohamed Bin Fahd Prize for Best Charity Performance in 2017 in the Arab World and received Misr El Kheir Foundation “Social Pioneers Prize” in 2020 for its effort in implementing the fourth goal in the SDGs “Quality Education.” 

Job responsibilities:

1. Developing the program’s yearly Action Plan serving Wataneya Strategic Objectives and perspectives. 2. Determining the program’s annual budget with the Sr. Manager 3. Managing the planning, the implementation, and the evaluation process of all programs/events related to Youth L&D objectives and plans. 4. Identify bottlenecks and the ways those bottlenecks could be addressed 5. Support with the implementation of the sustainability and community management plan of youth volunteers 6. Monitor program progress against both programmatic and budgetary targets and adjusting program design as necessary 7. Monitoring and follow-up on the program’s implementation, and ensure proper, and competent delivery by the assigned trainers/facilitators and coaches. 8. Providing necessary advisory and orientation group/individual sessions to the potential youth programs’ participants. 9. Planning and Overseeing the implementation of the department’s events and conferences 10. Planning with the Sr. Specialist the coordination and follow-up with the caregivers of the orphans’ participants to ensure alignment and achieving the set objectives generally and individually and monitoring the implementation process. 11. Planning and overseeing the implementation of the provided services from implementation partners 12. Supporting in the assessment and the selection of the trainers/facilitators and coaches in collaboration with the Learning and Development team in Wataneya

13. Assist in preparing proposals for customized pieces of training. 14. Responsible for establishing cooperation agreements with Educational Institutions, business corporations, funding agencies, and NGOs with similar activities. 15. Monitoring the opportunities for youth development and rehabilitation 16. Overseeing the payment process of the trainers/facilitators and coaches in coordination with the Finance Department. 17. Support in the development of capacity building plans for caregivers 18. Participating in the TNA of Wataneya consultants and trainers for improvement of their training skills or content related skills. Reporting and Sustainability 19. Prepare timely and high-quality program or donor reports on activities in compliance with internal requirements 20. Taking part in the development of impact assessment inside care homes 21. Supporting in the development and the review of the professional agreements/contracts covering the activities of the Department. 22. Allocating potential partners and key persons to cooperate with. 23. Taking part in the development of M&E and indicator tracking plans for the development programs with the support of the MEAL Sr. Specialist 24. Ensure appropriate, timely and accurate data collection against agreed indicators to enable both internal and external reporting 25. Developing a mechanism and tools for communicating with youth and care homes 26. Developing and overseeing the reporting system within the program and among the program’s team 27. Developing and overseeing the implementation of trainers’ follow-up 28. Supporting the department’s Sr. Specialist in the development of training sessions documentation
