About the Role
Team Leadership:
• Lead a team of technicians involved in composite manufacturing, fabrication, or repair.
Project Management:
• Coordinate production with the composite technician supervisor & the composite technician lead to prioritize tasks, allocate
resources and ensure timely completion of projects.
Composite Fabrication:
• Oversee the fabrication of composite materials, including layup, curing, bonding, and finishing processes of technicians.
Quality Assurance:
• Conduct quality inspections and tests to ensure that composite components meet specified requirements and industry standards
standards.
Troubleshooting:
• Identify and resolve issues related to material quality, process parameters, equipment malfunctions, and other production issues
challenges.
Requirements
The Composites Senior Technician plays a key role in the fabrication, testing, repair and maintenance of composite materials used
in various industries. They lead a team of technicians, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and in
compliance with safety and quality standards. This position requires a deep understanding of composite materials, manufacturing
processes and equipment as well as strong leadership and communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent, with additional vocational training or certification in composite materials
Technology preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in composite fabrication, testing, and repair, with demonstrated expertise in
manufacturing processes and techniques.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and motivate a team.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.
• Familiarity with composite layup techniques, vacuum bagging processes, Autoclave and out of autoclave (oven)
operations.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in all aspects of composite manufacturing operations.
• Certification in LEAN, 3P and 5S are desirable.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools for trimming, sanding, and finishing composite parts.
