About the Role

 

Strategic Operations Management:

Lead and direct all aspects of the plant's operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategic goals and objectives.

Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, production quality, and cost-effectiveness across multiple departments.

Provide guidance on scaling production capacity to meet evolving customer demands and market changes.

Executive Leadership and Team Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a senior leadership team, including department heads, supervisors, and key operational staff.

Foster a high-performance culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

Implement succession planning and workforce development programs to ensure a pipeline of future leaders.

Drive cross-functional team collaboration, ensuring alignment between production, quality, maintenance, logistics, and other departments.

Production Excellence and Continuous Improvement:

Take ownership of plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to drive operational excellence.

Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions.

Spearhead the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies to improve processes and maintain competitive advantage.

Financial Oversight and Cost Optimization:

Manage the plant’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.

Monitor and control plant expenditures, striving for continuous cost reduction while maintaining high product quality.

Lead capital expenditure projects, ensuring timely and on-budget completion.

Quality Control and Compliance Leadership:

Ensure plant-wide adherence to quality standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, OSHA, environmental regulations).

Proactively address and resolve any issues related to quality, supply chain disruptions, or regulatory compliance.

Promote a culture of quality assurance, ensuring all production teams are aligned with customer specifications and industry standards.

Maintenance and Equipment Optimization:

Develop and enforce a comprehensive asset management strategy, balancing production needs with proactive maintenance and equipment optimization.

Ensure that plant equipment, machinery, and technology are well-maintained to maximize uptime and minimize costly repairs.

Introduce predictive maintenance practices and invest in automation to improve plant efficiency.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Leadership:

Champion a plant-wide safety culture, leading efforts to reduce workplace accidents and ensuring compliance with all environmental and safety regulations.

Design and enforce safety protocols that align with industry best practices and regulatory guidelines.

Establish programs for environmental sustainability, reducing waste and energy consumption.

Executive Reporting and Stakeholder Communication:

Report directly to executive leadership, providing insights on plant performance, production metrics, and operational challenges.

Work closely with senior management and other departments (e.g., R&D, Supply Chain, Sales) to ensure alignment on strategic priorities and key business goals.

Provide thought leadership and serve as a strategic advisor in the areas of operational scaling, efficiency, and capacity planning.

Innovation and Technology Integration:

Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to incorporate innovative solutions into plant operations.

Lead efforts to integrate digitalization, data analytics, and automation into manufacturing processes, improving efficiency and quality.

 


Requirements

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience: Minimum of 15 years in manufacturing operations, with at least 5-7 years in a senior management or executive role (Plant Manager or higher).

Skills:

Proven expertise in plant operations, process optimization, and managing large-scale production environments.

Strong financial acumen, with experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and capital projects.

Advanced knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.

Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.

Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting to senior leadership, external stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
